You may have seen the video Jimmy Kimmel Live posted today where Jimmy shared his son’s scary birth story. If you missed it, you can watch it here . Warning, it will make you cry…
He gets emotional describing his experience as they discover his son is born with a heart defect, as you can imagine, it is a scary time for the family, but shares it has a happy ending. My friend Kayla had a similar story when she had her daughter Angeline. She was born with a congenital heart defect as well. The good news is Angeline just went in for a checkup and her heart beat was great! So to celebrate, her mom, Kayla asked me to paint the sweet little heartbeat as a reminder…13/52 is Angeline’s healthy heartbeat.
The cause she chose to highlight is Children’s of Alabama CHD fund that helps babies like Angeline. As Jimmy says in his video, “no parent should ever have to decide if they can afford to save their child’s life”.
Here is the information on how you can get involved and GIVE to Children’s If you don’t have extra money, they also ask for volunteers. Adult, college and teen volunteer programs are listed here. So please take an opportunity to get involved! Thank you sweet Angeline for giving my Art a story, turning it into something beautiful! We celebrate that sweet heartbeat and many others like it, that Children’s of Alabama have touched!
